It is only a couple of days away from the Bride & Groom Expo 2018. All the preparations are in high gear, with sponsors looking forward to another exciting experience partnering with Vision Group. Birthed through Bride & Groom magazine, the Expo has gained more and more prominence over the years, with last year even having a wedding conducted at the venue by Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB).
Last year was the first time that URSB partnered with the Bride & Groom Expo. Coming on board again this year, URSB says the Expo helped them gain a lot of visibility even after the Expo ended.
“We gained exposure through Vision Group platforms like Urban TV and Bukedde.Appearing on billboards, in the newspapers and on electronic media in the Expo adverts increased URSB’s visibility,” says Charles Nsimbi, URSB’s manager of civil registration.
“The URSB stall was a one-stop centre for information about all the services we offer for the exhibitors and prospective brides and grooms.Coverage in the Bride & Groom magazine after the event as well as coverage of the wedding on the runway on electronic media ensured URSB’s visibility long after the expo ended. Consequently, there has been an increase in inquiries and actual applications for destination weddings as a result. We have also noted an increased and pleasing recognition of the role of URSB in the administration of marriages,” Nsimbi adds.
“We are targeting Expo goers and particularly all prospective brides and grooms to ensure that the churches they intend to wed in have licenses and are filing marriage returns. We expect to disseminate information on other services like registration of businesses, protecting trademarks and industrial designs (fashions) for exhibitors.
This year, URSB will also have a mobile van at the venue that will offer instant/onsite (payable) services including;
• Search on marriage register (to find if your church is licensed to celebrate marriages or whether your marriage is registered),
• Business registration services (reserve/register business name/company name),
• Certification of marriage and/or business document and
• Search on trademarks
The Bride & Groom Expo takes place from June 22 to 24 at the Uganda Manufacturer’s Association new exhibition hall. The entrance fee is sh10,000 only.
